Online MTS Student Liaison

The role is remote.

The purpose of the Online MTS Student Liaison is to better equip students in the training for cross-cultural service by implementing new and maintaining current student engagements with GFM’s Online MTS program. The Online MTS Student Liaison is a part admin, part student interaction role to create a vibrant online community, including mobilizing new students, monitoring student social media platforms, working with Self-Study students, and developing new ways to encourage student relations with GFM. This ministry role is part-time, and support-raising is required.




Key Responsibilities



  • Pray for students in the Self-Study program

  • Mentor, Coach, and Disciple students into their next step in missions

  • Act as main Facilitator for new cohorts

  • Create and implement new procedures for student interactions

  • Monitor Social Media platforms for students, facilitating community through prayer requests, praise reports, virtual gatherings, etc.

  • Ensure that MTS students have the resources they need to do their work with excellence

  • Mobilize email inquiries with information on becoming new students

  • Read the feedback from students to see which teachings are resonating well with students

  • Create and implement new procedures for student interactions, especially on social media and video meetings

  • Focus on methods to interact more with non-Western students

  • Meet with other OMTS staff to discuss and brainstorm student interactions

  • Hold Live Zoom meetings for students quarterly

  • Connect students to create new cohorts

  • Create new and innovative ways to better engage online students relationally




Required Qualifications



  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith

  • Must have a sense of calling from God towards this position and a willingness to persevere through hard times (Rom 1:6; 1 Cor 1:1)

  • Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)

  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)

  • Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)

  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)

  • Must attend GFM’s intensive Missionary Training School (in person or online) or equivalent training as well as continuing education

  • Must be licensed or ordained as a minister

  • Must have experience in leading small group discussions, adult learning, and/or extensive cross-cultural missions work (among unreached people groups is helpful)

  • Must have an in-depth understanding of the Moodle learning system

  • Must have competent technology skills to develop an online curriculum and be familiar with Google Drive, CRM, Slack, etc.




Recommended



  • College Degree in education or cross-cultural studies is preferred

  • Experience with online training preferred (as a student, teacher or facilitator)
